about

Refugee -Marc Evan Diaz- Crisis. Songs of Freedom Vol. 1

“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”

All proceeds from my first and second single will go towards refugee victims of Aleppo, via the Preemptive Love Coalition (@preemptivelove).

I wrote this song earlier this year, when the refugee crisis was a buzzword in American politics. At the same time, a close member in my family happened to be dealing with homelessness. Through the process of helping her, I began to understand that helping refugees is not a political issue, it’s a heart issues, and one that we all need to deal with. We have a ethical and moral responsibility to help people who are in need.

lyrics

On a road
Traveling across the land
Far from home
Far from where I've ever been

I need somewhere to rest
I need somewhere to call my own
Can't go back to where I left
Can't go back to what I called my home

Remember Me

Danger surrounds me on every side
Paranoid, cause death waits by my bed at night
I need somewhere to sleep
I need somewhere to rest in peace
and if I die before I wake
I pray the Lord my soul to keep

Remember Me
Remember Me
Remember Me
The Refugee
